Software glitch causes long lines at JFK Airport

A computer software glitch with the security checkpoint screening equipment in Kennedy Airport's Terminal 4 is causing big problems for travelers Thursday afternoon.

Software technicians are on site to try to fix the problem, the TSA said. Passengers are being directed to additional security screening lanes downstairs.

Passenger Reuben Mourad tweeted his frustration with the long lines. "People are literally screaming out in anger," he wrote. "This is getting ugly."

Mourad took photos of the lines wrapped around the terminal. He tweeted that he got to his departure gate 1 minute late after taking two hours to get through security and that Delta denied him boarding.
