1st day of winter feels like spring

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Many New Yorkers are enjoying unseasonably warm weather in December.

Spring flowers are blooming and ice at the rinks is melting.

The forecast for the first full day of winter calls for rain and temperatures in the low 60s. 

The forecast on Christmas Eve calls for a high of nearly 70 degrees.

This follows a mild few weeks with the exception of a couple of cool days here and there.

The mercury is expected to rise as the week progresses.
