LaBeouf and two others are riding an elevator for 24 hours straight at the Oxford Student Union, a debate society, in the name of art. Visitors are invited to join them.

Actor Shia LaBeouf, 29, is known for his unusual method of expressing art in different forms.

In his latest "project," LaBeouf and collaborators Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner are riding an elevator starting Friday for 24 hours straight at the Oxford Student Union, a debate society within Oxford University, in the name of art.

A live feed with the audio of the elevator ride is available at YouTube.com.

The purpose of #Elevate is so "their collective voices may form an extended, expansive and egalitarian Oxford Union address," according to OxfordUnion.

In November, LeBeouf livestreamed himself watching movies inside a theater in New York City.

The eccentric performer has made headlines with bizarre escapades -- including yelling from the audience during a Broadway show and wearing a paper bag on his head to a movie premiere -- and has been treated for an alcohol problem.
