Sesame Street has a new home

The 46th season of the preschool program debuted Saturday, with HBO as its new home, and there's even a new show open.

In the new season, Elmo lives in a brownstone and the Cookie Monster is fighting crime.

There’s also a new character, Nina - a young bilingual Hispanic woman played by Suki Lopez.

Season 46 is by HBO subscription only, for now.

The new season's episodes won't be available on PBS until the fall.

Sesame Street first premiered on November 10, 1969 on PBS.
