A loggerhead sea turtle was discovered upside down and wedged between rocks by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The troubled turtle was found in Martin County recently at the Blowing Rocks Preserve.

Fortunately FWC and members of the Nature Conservancy staff were able to rescue the turtle. The female loggerhead was flipped over and lifted out, and FWC says she quickly crawled back into the water and swam off.

FWC says the incident can serve as a reminder to the public of how you can help nesting sea turtles by filling in any holes that you dig in the sand.
