The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations had a secret torture chamber during the reign of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, reported the NY Post.

The sound-proof room in the basement of the posh townhouse at 14 E. 79th St. Upper East Side was also allegedly used to kill people.

Enemies of the Iraqi State including local Iraqis were brought to the secret chamber and their bodies were sent back to Baghdad in custom-exempt packages.

According to the Post, Hussein's henchman used the captives as leverage to get their relatives back in the homeland to surrender and cooperate with the tyrannical government.

Officials from the Iraqi Mission, which is across the street from the home of billionaire former NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg, have not commented on the story by the Post.

The basement room with a heavy metal door was converted to a kitchen in 2014, eight years after Hussein was executed.
