Rihanna sues her father over use of their last name

Rihanna is suing her father for allegedly exploiting her name—which is also his. The singer, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, claims her dad, Ronald Fenty, is trading on her Fenty brand name without her permission.

Rihanna filed a lawsuit in federal court in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The suit accuses Ronald Fenty and two business partners of fraud and false advertising over his talent and production company, which is called Fenty Entertainment.

Rihanna claims that her dad has misled the public and damaged her brand name. Her label Fenty is associated with cosmetics and lingerie. It also has a partnership with a sportswear company.

Cease-and-desist notices have been sent to Ronald Fenty but have been ignored, according to the lawsuit.

The AP requested comment from Fenty Entertainment, which hadn't responded.
