A mall employee was shot by a stray bullet during an attempted robbery inside the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, Long Island, Tuesday afternoon. Nassau County Police say the shooting occurred at the Rolex section of a Torneau store when a gunman and store security tussled and the gun went off, authorities said.

Police took the alleged gunman into custody. He was identified as Oliver Lee, 21, of Little Neck. He was Arraigned Wednesday on robbery, assault, weapons, and other charges. He pleaded not guilty and was ordered held on $750,000 bail.

The shooting victim, a 67-year-old man, was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition, according to Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano. He suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

Fox 5 News reporter Jessica Formoso was inside the mall when she heard someone yell "there is a shooting, get out."

Witnesses reported shoppers running in fear for their lives.

The mall remained open except for the area around the crime scene.
