The scrolls of the Torah tell the story of the Jewish faith.

Rabbi Joshua Davidson is the senior rabbi at Temple Emanu-El on the Upper East Side. It is the largest Jewish house of prayer in the world. Rabbi Davidson says the origin of Judaism dates back more than a thousand years. He spoke to Fox 5 about the history of the faith.

Judaism consists of three major sects: Orthodox, Conservative and reform. The Orthodox believe the Torah and Jewish law were dictated by God.

Temple Emanu-El is a Reform Jewish congregation, which has a more liberal view of the Torah. Like most religions in these high-tech modern times Judaism has its challenges of remaining relevant, especially among millennials. Rabbi Davidson says religious leaders need to speak to the concerns of younger members.
