Rapper Tekashi69 arrested on racketeering, gun charges

Brooklyn rapper Tekashi69 is in federal custody facing firearms and trafficking charges. A spokesperson for the U.S. attorney's office confirmed the arrest to Fox 5's Lisa Evers.

The rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was to be arraigned in Manhattan federal court on Monday afternoon.

The authorities also arrested three of Hernandez's former associates, Kifano "Shotti" Jordan, Jensel "Ish" Butler and Faheem "Crippy" Walter. It is unclear whether they had defense attorneys.

Also known as 6ix9ine, the rapper was arrested Sunday night by ATF agents in New York City.

Walter was previously shot outside a Manhattan restaurant a few weeks ago during the altercation with Tekashi's record label head.

Tekashi69 was recently given probation in a child sex case in Brooklyn. The judge had warned had warned him to stay out of trouble or he'd be going straight to prison.

6ix9ine has publicly identified himself as a member of a violent New York gang, 9 Trey Bloods.
