Rapper accused of firing gun into air on Long Island

Rapper Stew Deez, who is on a national tour, is in trouble with cops on Long Island after allegedly firing a gun into the air during a fight outside a nightclub.

Suffolk County police arrested Deez, whose real name is Steward Howse, Friday afternoon after investigating the shooting.

Police had responded to the fight at The Emporium in Patchogue early Friday. Cops heard gunshots and saw a large crowd breaking up, authorities said. Police checked local hospitals, but no one appears to have gotten hurt.

Howse, of Cleveland, is touring with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. They had performed at the club the night before. Howse was the opening act.

Authorities charged Howse, 33, with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
