Rachel Roy denies she's 'Becky' in Beyonce song

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Two days after a barrage of insults and threats aimed at fashion designer Rachel Roy via social media, the divorced mother of two has broken her silence on her alleged affair with rapper Jay Z.

"I want to put the speculation and rumors to rest. My Instagram post was meant to be fun and lighthearted, it was misunderstood as something other than that," she said. "There is no validity to the idea that the song references me personally. There is no truth to the rumors." said Roy to People magazine.

After Beyonce released her visual album, 'Lemonade,' over the weekend, Roy posted a cryptic message apparently aimed at the singer.

Beyonce's 'Lemonade,' loaded with lyrics about infidelity possibly by her own husband, rapper Jay Z, with Roy, includes a line in the song, 'Sorry,' about "Becky with the good hair."

The designer took to Instagram with a photo of herself and another friend grinning and the caption: “Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always. Live in the light #nodramaqueens."

Roy deleted the post and made her Instagram account private after being inundated with hate messages from Beyonce supporters.

Later, Roy, 42, the former wife of rap mogul Damon Dash, took to Twitter with another message:

“I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn’t be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind."

The rumor mill began spinning in May 2014 after security camera video surfaced of Beyonce's sister, Solange, kicking and punching Jay Z inside a hotel elevator as Beyonce, 34, looked on.

The altercation was allegedly due to Roy's "too friendly" relationship with the rapper.
