Race to the Right House animal adoption event

Americans have a big decision coming up next month: who will they vote for? But in Harlem, animal lovers say they hope one decision is an easy one: elect to adopt.

Animal Care Centers of NYC, which has locations all over the city, has a special promotion now in honor of the upcoming election. Instead of "Race to the White House" it's called "Race to the Right House" to inspire New Yorkers to give homes to furry companions.

For only $20.16, like the year 2016, you can adopt dogs, cats and rabbits 6 months and older. Normally, the price varies from $50 to $75, depending on the age.

The promotion goes through Election Day, November 8. To adopt you can show up at any ACC in the city. You have to be 18 years old, have a photo ID, and show proof of address.
