Prescription drug delivery service app

You're sick and the last thing you want to do is wait at the drug store to get your prescription filled. Enter prescription delivery service Zipdrug. You could think of it as the Uber of medication. It's an app you can download for your phone or from a kiosk like one at CityMD.

A HIPAA-trained courier delivers your drugs either by foot or on a bike, depending on how close you live to your pharmacy.

While the idea of a third-party dealing with sensitive information like a prescription might turn some people off, Zipdrug CEO Stu Libby says the data is "100 percent secure" and that the service abides by all HIPAA guidelines. He says that the messengers undergo background checks and drug screenings.

So far, he says most patients using the app are return customers.

Right now you can use the app at CityMD or at any pharmacy across Manhattan. Zipdrug plans to roll out its service to the rest of the boroughs in the near future.
