Police: Woman steals wallet from EMT after boyfriend's death

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Police say a New Jersey woman has been charged with stealing the wallet from a medic who responded after the woman's boyfriend was fatally struck by a car.

Police say 27-year-old Jacob Dromgoole got out of his vehicle and was hit by another car Sunday morning in Harrison Township.

Authorities say Dromgoole's girlfriend, 25-year-old Brittany Carulli, of Pitman, was in an ambulance while emergency responders tried to assist Dromgoole, who died at the scene.

Police say an emergency medical technician later reported her wallet containing credit and debit cards, driver's license and $120 was missing from her purse. The purse had been in the vehicle's center console.

Police say Carulli admitted she took the purse and has been charged with theft.

It's not known if she has a lawyer.
