Armed man robbed New York hospital of drugs

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a man who walked into a New York hospital demanding drugs while carrying two rifles and claiming to have a bomb has been arrested.

Authorities said the 24-year-old man walked into Eastern Niagara Hospital, in Lockport — about 40 miles from Buffalo — around 5 a.m. Saturday. They say the man was carrying two rifles and was wearing a backpack, which he said contained a bomb.

Lockport Police Chief Michael Niethe told WHEC the man made off with some narcotics before dropping his weapons and backpack. He said bomb technicians went through the bag and found "an inert device."

Police said the suspect, Adam Kibler, was arrested on a robbery charge. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
