Philly cabbies block streets to protest UberX

A large demonstration left the streets of Philadelphia gridlocked for over an hour Wednesday. Taxi and limo drivers protested UberX and Lyft, saying that those app-based operations are illegal.

Hundreds of cab drivers blocked the streets leading to and around City Hall, leading to a heavy police response

An Uber spokesman released a statement blaming the drivers' frustration on "the Philadelphia Parking Authority's outdated rules."
