NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A homeless man from New South Wales has been reunited with his lost pet rat thanks to the efforts of the Sydney City Police.
The touching moment was captured on video when the man was handed 'Lucy' in a box.
Video of the encounter was shared by NSW Police on Thursday and has gone viral.
"She got the blind eye," her owner said. "She remembers me. Sorry to put you through the trouble."
"That's ok," said the officer.
"It feels wonderful. Thank you very much, everybody. She knows she's missed me, too."
