Passenger ejected through bus windshield

WEEHAWKEN, N.J. (AP) -- A bus passenger was ejected through the vehicle's front windshield when the bus made a sudden stop at a traffic light in northern New Jersey.

The accident happened at 11 a.m. Tuesday at JFK Boulevard East and Baldwin Avenue, just outside the Lincoln Tunnel entrance in Weehawken. The man was being treated at a hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

About 55 passengers were aboard the Baltimore-based private tour bus, which was bound for Manhattan. Authorities say the man was standing when the accident occurred.

The man went through the front windshield and landed on the street. But authorities say the glass portion of the windshield didn't break, though the entire front window broke free from the bus.
