Panhandler stabs man who didn't give him money

- New York City police are searching for a panhandler who they say stabbed a man inside a Manhattan restaurant who refused to give him money.

The stabbing happened at Pee Dee Steak House on West 125th Street in Harlem at about 2:10 p.m. on Friday April 13.

Police say the man stabbed the 30-year-old victim in the shoulder with a steak knife after begging for money. The suspect then ran away down 125th Street.

The victim was treated by EMS and then taken to Harlem Hospital where he underwent surgery to remove the knife. He was listed in stable condition.

Police have released surveillance images of the suspect. He is described as black, about 30, 5 feet 7 inches, 195 pounds, with brown eyes, a close-cut haircut, and a burgundy mark on his forehead. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, a yellow scarf, blue jeans, and brown boots.
