NYPD releases images of attempted rape suspects

Police said that two men beat and tried to rape a woman in Brooklyn early Wednesday. Authorities release security camera footage of the two men and hope that tips from the public will lead to a break in the case.

The men followed a woman along a street in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. Then one man pushed her up against a parked car, kissed her neck, and touched her crotch through her clothing, police said. The woman pushed him off and fled into a residential building, but the men followed her through the courtyard and into a vestibule, police said.

The men pinned her to a door and when she tried to fight them off, one man knocked her to the ground and repeatedly punched her face, police said. When a resident of the building entered the vestibule, the men fled, police said.

Police describe both suspects as black or Hispanic, 18 to 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a medium build. One wore a blue jean jacket, blue jeans and black sneakers. The other wore a dark baseball cap, a black sweater, and dark jeans.
