NYPD looking for subway attacker

New York City police are looking for a suspect who assaulted a woman aboard a subway train in Brooklyn.  It occurred Tuesday night on a southbound No. 3 train between Atlantic Avenue and Eastern Parkway.

Police say the 29-year-old victim told investigators that the suspect told her "I will chop you up on this train." He then allegedly struck her with an object wrapped in a cloth.  The woman was treated at a hospital for cuts to her right hand.

A very clear image of the man wanted for questioning was released by the NYPD.

There have been several recent attacks on NYC subway trains.  The victims appear to be random targets.  On Tuesday a man was taken into custody for the slashing of a 71-year-old woman on a Manhattan train.
