Water service outages at NYCHA complex

The summer hasn't been easy for tenants at the Brevoort Houses in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. Tenants told Fox 5 that water has been sporadic for about two weeks. Then it stopped working again on Wednesday night until Thursday afternoon.

NYCHA said that nearly 900 households were affected. Large pumps are scattered throughout this sprawling complex. NYCHA crews work to connect the pumps to hydrants. That is now the complex's water supply.

Tenant Monique Brown said the water comes on and then shuts off. She filled up pots throughout her home. This time she is ready if the water shuts off again.

NYCHA said crews are working hard to keep the water on and admitted that the residents deserve better.

Signs are up now throughout the complex stating that Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams will soon meet with residents and discuss the water outages.
