NYC mansion transformed into design showcase

At the 44th annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House, a $49.5 million mansion has been transformed into a showcase for 21 interior designers, all to benefit children at the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club. And while the furnishings here are lavish, a $35 ticket offers endless inspiration at any budget.

Designers Victoria Hagan, Jamie Drake, and Caleb Anderson offer some great tips to enhance any interior. Highlights include incorporating technology (like an LED-lit curtain hem) and updating an antique piece of furniture with a modern fabric. And with room after room of detailed interiors there's plenty more inspiration where that came from.

The show house will be open from Thursday through June 9. Just go to kipsbaydecoratorshowhouse.org for more details.
