NJ woman reunites with stolen dog

After a ‘ruff’ night away from home, Jack Jack Zimmerman is back in his doggy bed. The 12-year-old pooch was in his owner’s car at Newark Airport when it was stolen.

Jude Zimmerman said she was standing less than a foot away from the driver’s seat with the door open around 6:15am. She was at the airport to pick up her son who was coming home for a family member’s funeral. Suddenly, she felt someone whisk behind her, jump into the car, and accelerate. “I treated myself to this 2018 BMW hardtop convertible and I loved it, I only had it for 10 days,” Zimmerman said, but watching as Jack Jack sped off was the hardest part.

Zimmerman’s boyfriend, Mike Morris thought to post about the missing pup on social media.

Later that day, Jack Jack somehow ended up in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He was found roaming around alone. Sun Deli owner Lan Luk took him in.

Just one day later, social media exploded. “People were saying we think we saw the dog at the Sun Deli, and within that hour I was at the Sun Deli and found him,” says Zimmerman.

Police have not made any arrests. Still, with her best bud safe and sound, Zimmerman is chalking this one up as a win. “To have Jack Jack back for that situation was a miracle, and it was just a sign that everything is going to be okay,” says Morris.
