New York enjoys Cider Week

Who says you can't add a little kick to that apple-a-day-keeps-the-doctor-away habit?

Operations manager of Big Apple Hard Cider Joshua Vonscheiner says local craft hard cider continues to grow in popularity.

On Friday, all boozy fruit lovers unite for New York's annual Cider Week. Each year, cider makers from all over the country but predominantly New York State descend into New York City for lavish cider-tasting events as a way to embrace the Big Apple's apples.

Eataly's Lower Manhattan location kicks off the event this year, serving more than 20 different kinds of artisanal beers and ciders. Cider Week runs through October 29.
