Nassau Coliseum renovation on track

The 20-month, $130 million upgrade to the Nassau Coliseum is more than halfway done. With hard hats on, we got a look at what's happening behind the scene.

Get ready for a more modern look with a hint Long Island's flair. Long gone are the bulky concession stands. The floors and walls will be redone. They are also doubling the number of bathrooms. The team store will be transformed into a beer garden.

More than 150 workers are on this massive project. They're upgrading the electrical system and revamping the lower level with a VIP club and even more food options.

The new coliseum will seat between 13,000 and 14,000 people for hockey and basketball. And even more for concerts.

The celebrities and athletes who take the floor will have access to the new artist quarters and locker rooms.

By the end of the year most of the painting, flooring and ceilings will be completed. They're on track with no doubt to have everything finished in time for Billy Joel's sold-out reopening performance on April 5.
