Military members challenge NFL pros to Madden '17

- In a world that seems intent on reminding us about all the things that make us different, an exercise at NFL headquarters Wednesday was about the things we share in common. NFL players and military service members and their common thread of video games.

Started by Greg Zinon, Pro vs. G.I. Joe for about 7 years now is trying to not just give members of the military an autograph or a handshake but instead give them an experience: playing them at Madden '17.

Specialist Tanner Butler, originally from Colorado, is stationed at Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn. His opponent was NFL linebacker Lamaar Houston. On this day, they were on an equal playing field.

Over the years, it has grown into a network that includes more than 15 NFL teams. Sessions like this aren't uncommon in locker rooms and player lounges. And new technology allows players to play against and interact with military overseas.

The people. And the players. Win-win.
