A southbound Metro-North train hit a bicycle on the tracks in the Fordham section of the Bronx Monday morning, causing delays on the Harlem and New Haven lines. Police sources said someone actually threw the bike onto the tracks. No one was on the bike and no one was hurt. But the incident left a lot of passengers shaken up.

Crews evacuated the train shortly after the collision at about 11:45 a.m., according to the MTA. The incident occurred just as the train was leaving Fordham station.

Workers were able to remove the bike. The track was then set to be inspected and repaired.

Metro North said riders traveling through the Fordham section may experience scattered residual delays of about 10 minutes.
