Medical student hailed as hero for saving woman from attacker

A Tulane medical student was shot after trying to save a woman from an attacker. And now Tulane is offering a $10,000 reward to help catch the shooter. Police say 25 year-old Peter Gold saw a woman being dragged down the sidewalk Friday morning by 21-year-old Euric Cain.

Gold got out of his car to intervene and was shot in the stomach.

The gunman tried to shoot him several more times, including once in the head, but the gun jammed and the man took off.

Police are asking for help to find Cain.

Gold is in the hospital right now and is said to be in guarded condition.

The woman he helped was not injured.
