MasterCard's selfie security

Whether it's capturing that perfect moment with friends, a new hairdo, or the family vacation, there is a new reason to indulge in selfies -- your personal security.

MasterCard will use biometrics on your face or a fingerprint scan to verify your identity to make payments online -- it will scan your face while you take a selfie.

It is a potential boost for online sales and could eventually replace the need to remember all those passwords.

It is a new tool to fight one of the industry's biggest challenges: digital hackers.

The technology is now in the pilot stages. MasterCard is already partnering with big banks in the U.S. and plans to roll out the program this summer.
