Mass transit returning to service
NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - Here is the latest on mass transit:
Subways
The MTA also advises that service on all Subway lines has been restored and customers should expect a normal morning peak with one minor change. B trains in Brooklyn will run local throughout the day.
Buses
MTA New York City Transit restored local and express bus service throughout New York City. Customers are advised to use the MTA Bus Time real-time tracker at bustime.mta.info to monitor buses on their chosen routes.
Paratransit
Access-A-Ride paratransit services are available.
Metro-North Railroad
Metro-North will run its normal weekday schedule Monday morning. There may be canceled and combined trains throughout the system as Metro-North continues to clear tracks, switches and yards of snow and ice from this weekend's storm. Customers should continue to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys as snow removal work continues.. Specific line information is available at www.mta.info.
Long Island Rail Road
LIRR train service is restored on the Babylon, Ronkonkoma, and Huntington branches with express trains making local stops until they are filled. Train service is also restored in diesel territory – Oyster Bay and Port Jefferson branches, between Greenport and Ronkonkoma and west of Speonk on the Montauk Branch.
LIRR train service remains suspended on the Port Washington, Far Rockaway, Hempstead, Long Beach and West Hempstead branches, and east of Speonk on the Montauk Branch due to the on-going effects of this weekend’s blizzard. There will also be no service between Jamaica Station and Atlantic Terminal. Instead, LIRR tickets will be cross-honored by New York City Transit on the 2 Subway and 3 Subway trains between Brooklyn and Penn Station. Monitor mta.info for updates on service restorations.
PATH
Service remained suspended between Newark and Journal Square. NJ Transit was cross honoring PATH tickets and passes at NY, Newark and Hoboken stations.
Bridges and Tunnels
MTA bridges and tunnels are open.
NJ Transit
NJ Transit was planning a normal weekday schedule. The railroad warned of 20 minute delays system wide on Monday. There were also issues with parking for commuters. The Westfield, N.J. station lot had not been plowed by the time the first train of the morning arrived, leaving no available parking.
There was systemwide cross-honoring in effect for Monday, January 25.

Ferry Service
The East River Ferry has resumed service.
Parking Regulations
Alternate side parking regulations are suspended through next Monday in the city. The mayor asked residents to not dig their cars out unless they needed to use them for an emergency. He added that snow should not be thrown into the road when digging out a car.
