Man climbed through bedroom window to rape woman: Cops

The NYPD has released surveillance video of a man who they say used a fire escape to enter a woman's bedroom window in the Bronx before robbing and raping her.

The assault occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 10 in the area of East Tremont Ave. and Thieriot Ave.

In the video released by police, the man is seen climbing stairs inside a building. It is unclear if the video was recorded before or after the alleged assault.

According to police, the man climbed through the third floor window and demanded money from the 28-year-old while pointing a gun at her with a light attached to it. 

The victim gave the assailant $400 cash before she was raped, according to police.

EMS brought the woman to Jacobi Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect is described as black with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a green t-shirt and faded blue jeans.
