NEW YORK (AP) — Thousands of revelers flooded Fifth Avenue in Manhattan for New York City's annual Columbus Day Parade.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Mayor Bill de Blasio and celebrity chef Mario Batali joined high school marching bands, Italian-American groups and firefighters from Milan —to name just a few.

The weather was chilly — inching barely into the 60s — but skies were blue and the smiles were sunny.

Kids and adults waved green, white and red Italian flags along with American flags throughout the hours-long march on Monday.
