Woman killed, 2 kids injured in Bronx car crash

NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a woman has been killed and two young children were injured in a car collision in the Bronx.

Police say Sunday the fatal accident occurred Saturday night in the borough's Woodlawn Heights neighborhood.

They say 58-year-old Elizabeth Wimmer was killed and two children ages 5 and 10 were taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Investigators believe the collision occurred after a 2009 Honda CRV crossed a double yellow line into oncoming traffic, striking Wimmer's sedan.

Police say the driver of the Honda CRV was injured and is in stable condition at a hospital.

There have been no arrests. Detectives with the collision investigation squad are investigating the accident.
