New York man charged in fatal stabbing at New Jersey party

PATERSON, N.J. (AP) - A New York City man accused of stabbing another man during a party at a New Jersey home has been charged with murder.

Paterson police say Miguel Nesbeth also faces weapons charges stemming from the death of 41-year-old Alfred Edwards, who was stabbed multiple times during the attack. He was taken to a hospital but died there a short time later.

The stabbing was reported around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Nesbeth was found a short time later on a nearby street. A motive for the attack remains under investigation.

It wasn't known Sunday if the 31-year-old Brooklyn man has retained an attorney.
