Brooklyn high-rise fire kills toddler

NEW YORK (AP) — Authorities say a 1-year-old boy has died and two adults have been seriously injured in a Brooklyn high-rise fire.

The fire broke out at around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in a 13th floor kitchen at the Howard Houses in Brownsville.

Police say the toddler, Ivan Baez, was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The cause of the fire was not immediately determined.
