NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Long Island Rail Road service on the Port Washington Branch has been restored after a train derailment in Sunnyside, Queens, Wednesday afternoon caused suspensions, delays, and cancellations in both directions. The train had two derailed axles, according to the MTA.
We are in the process of restoring normal service on the Port Washington Branch following an earlier derailment. The first eastbound through train to Port Washington is the 5:14 PM train from Penn to Great Neck which will be extended to Port Washington tonight.
