LaGuardia is most stressful airport in U.S., of course

One airport in America probably stresses out travelers more than any other: New York's LaGuardia Airport.

InsureMyTrip.com, which sells travel insurance, assessed flight cancellations and delays at 75 airports across the country. LaGuardia had the highest percentage of canceled flights in 2018—almost 5 percent.

"Holiday travelers must also deal with other seasonal factors like weather-related airport delays and bad-timed colds," InsureMyTrip said in a news release. "All of these 'What If's?' can add up to a lot of stress, due to the uncertainty of not getting to our destination on time."

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is in the middle of a massive redevelopment project at LaGuardia to modernize the facility.

The New York-area's other major airports didn't do much better than LGA. Newark Liberty International and John F. Kennedy International both landed in the top-10 for poor on-time performance.
