Lack of sleep could cause you to eat

If you find yourself craving a lot of sweets, it may be because you're not getting enough sleep.  A new study that says sleep deprivation can actually give you the "marijuana munchies."

The study was published in the medical journal Sleep, and funded by the Department of Defense, finds if you have trouble dozing off it can produce similar effects as smoking marijuana.

Researcher Erin Hanlong explains the science.

"The cabinoid system is what marijuana also acts on to create increases in hunger and appetitie overeat when they are not hungry," Hanlon says.
