Man revived in horrific Manhattan crash

A passenger in a Honda Civic was revived at the scene of a horrific crash in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan early Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred at 2:27 a.m. when a Department of Transportation truck slammed into the Civic at 34th St. and Third Ave. and then both crashed into a parked taxi.

Police are investigating what lead to the crash near the Midtown Tunnel.

“[The] Honda was going at least a hundred miles an hour — running red lights, going uptown on Third — when he got to the corner of 34th, the truck had the green light and just ran right into the Honda. He must have been going at least 120 miles an hour,” Donald Johnson, the manager at Insomina Cookies, told the NY Post.

The passenger in the Civic was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the DOT vehicle was taken to NYU Medical Center and the driver of the Civic was treated at Bellevue Hospital.
