A traffic violation turned out to be a blessing in disguise for a Paulding County family.

Officer Johnson with the Hiram Police Department's Traffic Unit was conducting a "Click It or Ticket" check on Monday when he stopped an SUV.

Inside the Ford Explorer was the driver, a mother riding passenger and her two small children. According to Hiram police, the children should have been riding in booster seats, but they weren't.

The mother told the officer she didn't have means to obtain booster seats and that's when the officer and his department went above and beyond the call of duty.

"We provided the children booster seats to allow the children to travel away safely," Hiram police said on Facebook

Police said since it was a "Click It or Ticket" stop, "enforcement action was taken."

Officer Johnson educated the family about the seats in hopes they'll be used correctly whenever they travel.
