Highlights of Connecticut's new online DMV services

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Here are some of the new online services the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles plans to offer on its website www.ct.gov/dmv starting Aug. 17:

Improvements to DMV's existing online vehicle registration renewal program

Ability to check online for items that can hold up a registration renewal, including unpaid property taxes, lack of insurance and delinquent parking violations

Ability to reprint a registration certificate

Ability to order special license plates, including vanity plates

Ability to order replacements for damaged license plates

Provide customers with the option of allowing DMV to contact them by email or postal mail
