Group of 8 thugs beat and rob man in Manhattan

The NYPD is looking for help in identifying a group of eight young people who attacked and robbed a man in the Flatiron District of Manhattan.  They released surveillance footage of the attackers on Tuesday.

The robbery happened on Sunday, July 8 at about 11:30 p.m.  The 39-year-old man was walking in front of 47 West 15th Street.  The group of males and one female approached him from behind.

The demanded his wallet and phone.  They then repeatedly hit him in the face and body.  They then grabbed his phone and then took on on 6th Ave.

The victim suffered a broken jaw and several cuts.  He was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.

Police are looking for a female, black, in her late teens to early twenties.  The other seven are described as black males in their late teens to early twenties.

The images were taken from cameras in the Times Square area either before or after the attack.
