Police in Spring Valley, New York, are looking for a 10-year-old girl who is missing under "unknown circumstances" and could be in danger.

Police called off the search on Tuesday for a 10-year-old girl who was reported missing in Spring Valley, New York, a day earlier. Kelly Rivera-Pillco was found safe in Washington Heights in Manhattan, police said.

Kelly skipped out on school and took a cab into New York City, police said. Her mother did not report her missing until Monday evening when she did not come home from an after school program.

The child was found dazed and confused by a Washington Heights business owner. Law enforcement sources told Fox 5 that the business owner called the NYPD. Officers from the 32 Precinct came and helped the girl.

Police have serious questions about where Kelly was all day and what happened to her.

A missing child alert was activated when Kelly went missing under "unknown circumstances" and there was the possibility that she could be in danger.

Before she re-appeared on Tuesday, she was last seen at 8:15 a.m. on Monday at the corner of Bethune Blvd. and Ben Wild Road at her bus stop, police said. But Kelly never boarded the school bus and instead caught a cab.
