Cops: Man murdered his girlfriend and then posted pictures to Facebook

These days everyone posts their accomplishments and major events to Facebook. Sometimes you wish you hadn’t seen that your old roommate got a promotion or that your ex just had a baby. But there are just some things that you should never have to see. Like a dead body.

Kenneth Alan Amyx reportedly killed his girlfriend and then posted a photo of her body to his Facebook page. He apparently also posted a picture of his own face covered in her blood. The caption read “Please pray for us.” The woman’s family called the police after they saw the pictures and Amyx was arrested.

The craziest part of all this? Facebook refused to take the photos down until 36 hours later, despite multiple requests by the family, because they "didn’t violate the terms and conditions" of the website.

The victim’s sister said that when she asked Facebook to take down the photos they suggested she block her sister’s account. Facebook stands by their actions saying that graphic photos are not a violation of their policy and even though they were flagged, they could not be removed until monitors determined that her profile was hacked.

This was an unthinkable crime and our thoughts are with the victim’s family. But we really don’t "like" how Facebook handled it.
