LOS ANGELES - We’ve got some good news-- or some bad news-- depending on your relationship status. According to Facebook, December 11 is the busiest time of year for breakups.

So if things are rocky, your current couplehood has a pretty precise expiration date.

Dating coach James Preece told the Daily Mail there are a few reasons for this. First and foremost…why would you buy Christmas presents for someone you don’t even want to be with? It sounds shallow, but it’s a tough economy out there.

Mid-December is also an easy time to be with family and friends and ease the transition into singlehood.

And while, yes, you’ll also be alone for New Years, there isn’t another day in the year when it’s socially acceptable to walk up to a person and plant one on ‘em!
