Florida sends dump trucks, love up north

Much of the northeast is back to normal following last weekend's record-setting blizzard, but some cities are struggling to dig out.

Even with warmer temperatures, some streets in Maryland and Washington D.C. are still snow-packed after receiving more than two feet of accumulation.

That's why cleanup crews from the Sunshine State are joining efforts to assist with snow removal.

Governor Rick Scott says the state of Florida is sending 15 dump trucks, and a friendly message for our snowed in friends.

A cheery yellow sign on the back of the trucks shows a thumbs-up-giving snowman with a “Florida Bound” sign, along with the words “Sharing the sunshine. #LoveFL”.

The campaign aims to encourage northerners to kick those winter blues and head south.

A total of 31 state employees will also be on hand during the visit.
