Three police officers with the Gainesville Police Department in Florida posted a selfie in the wake of Hurricane Irma, and it’s now the hottest thing on internet.

Just when people are in need of some relief after the threat of Hurricane Irma, the Internet comes to the rescue.  Police officers have been posting pics, responding to the tropical storm, which continued to tear through north Tuesday as it lost strength. Facebook fans have been applauding the officers' efforts.

In fact, they've been so thankful for their efforts that they have posted comments to Facebook by the hundreds, and prompted one police department to promise a calendar and ask followers to stop calling 9-1-1 and asking for the officers.

As of Wednesday, the post had generated 228,997 shares.
