'Fearless Girl' creator reflects one year later

- When the Fearless Girl statue appeared opposite the iconic Charging Bull near Wall Street one year ago, she became an instant hit with New Yorkers and tourists, especially with women and girls.

On Thursday, the statue was draped in flowers in honor of International Women's Day.

The firm State Street Global Advisors, which owns the statue, is in talks with New York City officials to find this casting a permanent home.

The artist, Kristen Visbal, spoke to Fox 5 News about the message of the statue, what has happened in business in the year since its installation, and what she hopes comes next.

"I think it marks a moment in history, when we unveiled Fearless Girl last year, of global awareness of the benefits of diversity," Visbal said. "So now, we're just moving forward. This is not rocket science."

Another casting of the statue was unveiled in Oslo, Norway, on Thursday, according to the AP.
